Different swim styles need different measurements. Select your style below and follow the instructions exactly for the most accurate fit.
One piece measurements

Bust (one breast only): Starting from the side of your rib cage just below the armpit, measure across the fullest part of one breast and stop at the center of your chest. One side only, not the full chest. Why one breast? The bust panel on your TaniJay piece covers one breast at a time. This measurement tells me exactly how wide to build the panel to your body.

Neck to navel: Place the tape at the center of your collarbone and measure straight down to your navel. Stand tall and keep the tape in a straight line. Start at the collarbone, not the base of the throat.

Navel to low back: Place the tape just below your navel, run it between your legs and bring it up to the center of your lower back. Between the cheeks, not over them. The tape needs to go between your cheeks pulled snug, the way the bikini actually sits when you tie it. If the tape sits on top of the cheeks you will get a number 2 to 4 inches too long, which affects how the piece fits through the back. This is the most important measurement to get right.

Bikini top measurements
- Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust, ensuring the tape rests comfortably and snugly without squeezing. This is the full bust, not one side.
- Under bust: Measure directly under your bust, keeping the tape comfortably snug but not tight.
- Arm circumference (if applicable): For tops with straps, measure around the fullest part of your upper arm.

Bikini bottom measurements
- Waist: Measure around your natural waistline, the narrowest part of your torso.
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.

Headwear
For headbands, sun hats, ski masks, beanies, and more. One measurement is all it takes.

Wrap the tape around the widest part of your head, across your forehead and above your ears.

Keep the tape snug but comfortable. It should rest easily without pressing into your skin.

Record your measurement in inches and include it in your order notes.
Cover-Ups
Long-sleeve, short-sleeve, or no-sleeve. Every style requires the same core measurements.
- Arm length: Measure from the top of your shoulder down to your wrist for long-sleeve, or to your desired sleeve length for short-sleeve.
- Shoulder to hem: Measure from the top of your shoulder down to your desired cover-up length.
- Chest / bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, ensuring the tape rests comfortably under your arms.
- Relaxed fit width: For a relaxed fit, measure from side to side across your back and chest.
